Experiences

I was reflecting a bit about my life. I think you should too. Think about what you've been doing and what you gravitated towards. What were your interests? What do you read when you check out the news?

Don't have to read the rest below, but it's just an example, and maybe some experiences are stuff that you have too that you never thought of! I sometimes forget what I am doing.

My experiences (things that other people may not have)
Tech savvy - I know quite a lot of helpful resources online. Image editing, social media, etc. I am very well versed with Excel, Photoshop, Gettyimages, Word etc. etc. Removing viruses, etc.. I have.. like 15 years of experience on the internet.
Beauty - I watch beauty videos and read fashion magazines. Maybe I should start a beauty channel. Ha ha.
Music - I am always up to date with pop music.
FRUGAL - I used to do couponing. I got a ton of free shampoos, shoes, makeup, food. I practically could have lived off of it.
Simple sewing - I used to make little small puppets and put little cotton balls in them for stuffing.

School experience (things I think are my strong points)
Statistics/Business Calculus/ - I think people don't really understand the material more than I do.
Financial Accounting - I vaguely remember it. But this class was tough that a lot of people dropped out probably due to the amount of time people had to put into this class.
History of Art - I loved the teacher and I like describing paintings.
French - Ca va? Bien. Haha.. ok I just know simple French. tbh.
Italian - Mi chiamo Casey. Io sono de... (city here) :P

* I think I also have an interest with Psychology, I always blog about psychology on Tumblr? I might get into that... and human behavior.

Super recent..
Minimalism/Zen - I have issues with worrying and thinking. So I started cultivating a new practice in my life. Decluttering useless thoughts and useless activities that don't help me. Also, useless products as well I want to get rid of and only use the products that help me.

Now that we reflected the experiences.. see what you can do to help people that people are willing to spend their time on and make money!

Read, Read and Read

So important because it could help you personally and maybe professionally.

I think business self help books are valuable! I'm still going through the Excel book. I decided school doesn't help. Reading stuff online or in books will help and with little to no cost.

By the way, it gets very dry sometimes to always "self improve" -- it takes a lot of work and energy. I treat myself a little TV show (in my case Gilmore Girls, I just love it ;P) and it will keep me motivated. Keep going and never look back in the past. Keep your head up and think this is only temporary.

I wonder if there is some kind of community of self improving -- financially and personally? I am totally down for it.. I would love to be in a support system like that! I would love a mobile app, if I can build one.

-Also, I am currently finding a way to retain what I read, and getting the most of what I read. Instead of reading passively. That is one issue I have with reading

Care for yourself!

Remember to take care of yourself.

Eat, and sleep well. Socialize. Please be careful about your finance too, on your income especially. It's easy to save, but making more is more difficult. Keep learning and doing. It's world of doing. Stop doing things, you will drown.

Self worth

(Note: I know it might not be related to minimalism, this topic is about self development)

I struggle deeply about how to stand up for myself yet not hurt others while doing so. Money is a touchy subject and it can cause so much hate and anger if it isn't presented well. The idea that I have to get paid for what I deserve is something I don't really think about. It's important though, because it will impact my life style. Anywho, it doesn't hurt to aim for something that is high paying? ( I also need to like it a bit too, sounds a little contradictory from my later posts. But need to like and to be reasonable pay. I don't understand why people think it's wrong. I don't want to live in poverty either struggling to pay for bills and working 50+ hour weeks to even survive with no time for myself and with no retirement, that sounds like suicide. That's not a life to live.

Career

One tip about career.

Don't choose career just because it pays a lot.. you need to like it a bit. Or what you can do for a looong time.

I chose admin because it seemed realistic.
Think of other options besides the typical like the trades.

Analyze your life

Analyze what you are doing day to day.
Ask yourself, is it helping you to become what you want to be - professionally, or personally at least?

Example:
Professionally: I want to very very proficient in Excel. I know quite a lot already but I want to be on top of it.
Personally: I want to be an empathetic, calm, honest, reasonable person.

You need to know what you want to be if you don't know. You aren't doing any favors for yourself.. you might even become homeless or/and in pain all through out your life. So please, be careful of what you spend your time in.

Also, be careful of the time you take away from other people too. Or the time you take away from yourself if you aren't gaining anything.

Get down to the details of your life. Look at the people you talk to. Look at what you spend time online. Look at the time you spend thinking. Cut everything that doesn't help your growth/happiness/profession. Manage your time wisely this is what differentiates from rich to poor.

I found that I liked to read in this process. It's been very fun and I also loved to read the news.
